The PhotoPlus photo competition from Serif and Jessops is entering the final phase.
Over 4,200 photos submitted across the five categories: HDR, Action, Nature & Wildlife, Portrait, and Landscape & Architecture have been narrowed down to 20 finalist images. These category winners have already won a copy of Serif PhotoPlus X5 digital photo editing software (software review at About.com Photography) and are now competing for the grand prize – $3000 worth of kit including a Nikon 3200 DSLR with an 18-55mm lens, a Nikon J1 compact system camera with two lenses, a canvas print of their winning image, a year’s subscription to Digital Photo magazine and Practical photography, and the whole suite of Serif software.
No judges behind the curtain for this phase of the contest. Category winners are in online gallery for public voting until the 16th September.
The winner of the competition, which has been organized in association with Jessops, will take home over $3,000 worth of kit: a Nikon 3200 DSLR with an 18-55 VR Lens, Nikon J1 Compact System Camera Twin Lens Kit (white), a Veho Duopod, a Serif software bundle, two large format prints, a canvas print, and a subscription to various photography magazines.
“We have seen thousands of photography enthusiasts from all over the world submit some stunning photography that has been edited and enhanced using our photo editing software,” says Gary Bates, Managing Director at Serif. “The standard of entries this year was extremely high, so it was an incredibly difficult task choosing who made the final cut. We now need the public’s help to decide which lucky individual will scoop the grand prize.”
